Your data isn't a business model.
Free apps make money from what you eat and plan. Not mangia — that's why the app costs something.
No ads. No data selling.

Free apps have a business model: you are the product. What you buy, what you cook, how your family eats — that's valuable data. Ad-funded apps sell that portrait of you. Not mangia.
We analyse — but only for you.
mangia analyses what you cook: for the balance, for your children's taste profiles, for sorting your recipes. That's useful for you — and it stays with you. We don't share data, don't show ads, don't build behavioural profiles for third parties. That's why mangia costs something — not to get rich, but because it's our promise.
Zero ads — ever
mangia funds itself through optional Pro features. Advertising is not a business model — and never will be.
Your data, exportable
You can export all your recipes, plans and data as a ZIP — anytime, within minutes. And delete your account: permanently, no delay.
GDPR-compliant, no ad tracking
No ad tracking, no cross-site tracking, no sharing with third parties. What you enter belongs to you.
Frequently asked
Why does mangia cost something?
Because we don't show ads and don't sell data. Our revenue model relies on optional Pro features — balance, taste profile, unlimited generations. Core features (recipes, plan, shopping) are free.
What does mangia store about me?
Your recipes, your plan, your shopping lists and — if you use the Family module — your children's ratings. We only use this data to show you better suggestions and calculate your balance. No sharing with third parties.
Can I export my data and delete my account?
Yes. In settings you'll find the ZIP export of all your recipes and plans. You can delete your account yourself at any time — permanently and without delay.
What's the difference from the normal privacy page?
The privacy policy is the legal document. This page explains the why: why we don't have an ad model, what that means for you, and what our funding model looks like.
I've had bad experiences with subscription apps — what's different here?
Understandable. Many people know the pattern: an app was free, then suddenly starts charging — or you lose access to your own recipes when you cancel. mangia has a permanently free tier, and your imported recipes stay yours even without mangia Pro. Above all, you can export everything as a ZIP anytime (recipes as Markdown, plans and lists as CSV) — you're never locked in.
